CERAMIC ART of Robert Maxwell In addition to his everyday ceramic production, Robert Maxwell created a number of individual works of ceramic art. A few were exhibited but most of these special pieces were made exclusively for his family and friends to enjoy. In recent years, this type of work has resumed-especially the circular "tondos" that are carved by hand and cut into sections like jigsaw puzzles prior to firing and final reassembly.
